A solid silver presentation tray with the signatures of all the members of the British government engraved on the back. It was a wedding gift to Winston Churchill – then a government minister – on his marriage to Clementine Hozier in 1908.

Blenheim Palace footman’s uniform, late 1800s. Footmen helped the butler and served at mealtimes. At Blenheim in Winston’s day they were all at least six feet tall with hair powdered to look white. They wore this uniform with silk stockings and buckled shoes.
