Winston Churchill’s red velvet ‘siren suit’. Churchill designed this himself and often wore these kind of smart ‘onesies’ during the Second World War. They were named after the air raid siren, as they meant Winston could dress quickly if woken by the siren at night time. They were based on the comfortable boiler suits he wore when painting.
